However, in pre-modern philosophy, namely that of ancient Greece and the middle ages, the beautiful was not understood and explained independently of the good and the true. Before Christanity and in the middle ages, the relation of beauty with goodness and truth was elaborated by Dionysius. In his <em>On the Divine Names</em>, by a combination of theological perspective with the late neo-platonic framework, Dionysius explains the relation of beauty with goodness and truth as three fundamental Divine Names. This paper tries, through the analysis of Dionysius' treatise, to study and explain the nature of these three Names and their relationships. This paper shows that Dionysius while declaring the essential unity of beauty, goodness, and truth, affirms the theophanic aspect of beauty and its function to motivate the soul powers of knowledge and love towards its ultimate goal, theosis. As such, Dionysius can be regarded as the founder of a kind of theological-mystical aesthetics.</span> یکی از زمینه‌های ظهور زیبایی‌شناسی مدرن یا «استتیک» در دورة موسوم به روشنگری، حکم به استقلال قلمرو امر زیبا از قلمروهای خیر و حقیقت بوده است؛ اما در فلسفة غرب پیش‌مدرن، یعنی در دورة یونان باستان و قرون وسطی، زیبایی مستقل از خیر و حقیقت فهم و تبیین نمی‌شد. ایدة پیوند زیبایی با خیر و حقیقت در مسیحیت دوران باستان متأخر و پیش از دورة قرون وسطای مسیحی در غرب لاتینی، در آرای دیونوسیوس آریوپاگی به‌صورت مبسوط مطرح ‌شد. دیونوسیوس در رسالة <em>اسماء الهی</em> خود، با الهام‌گرفتن از چشم‌انداز نوافلاطونیان متأخر به‌ویژه پرُکلُس و تلفیق آن با نظرگاه الهیاتی مسیحی، از پیوند زیبایی با خیر و حقیقت به‌مثابۀ سه نام اساسی خداوند سخن می‌گوید. در این پژوهش، کوشش شده است با تمرکز بر رسالة <em>اسماء الهی</em> و با روش تحلیل متن، کیفیت پیوند این سه نام بررسی و تبیین شود. این پژوهش روشن می‌کند دیونوسیوس در عین تصریح به اتحاد بنیادین زیبایی، خیر و حقیقت، بر جنبة متجلی‌کنندة زیبایی و نقش آن در حرکت معرفتی و عاشقانة نفس به‌سوی خداگونه‌شدن تأکید می‌کند. بدین‌سان، دیونوسیوس را می‌توان آغازگر گونه‌ای زیبایی‌شناسی الهیاتی‌ـ‌عرفانی در مسیحیت دانست که اثری ماندگار بر اندیشمندان مسیحی پس از خود در قرون وسطی داشت. https://mph.ui.ac.ir/article_25527_e6fe571080cc8f559635d0581d817fbf.pdf
